From Our Year Level Coordinators
Year 11 Camp wrap-up
In the last week of August, our Year 11 cohort participated in their annual school camp. This year they stayed at Cape Hillsborough Nature Tourist Park. Over the three days, our students participated and competed it a range of activities intended to push them out of their comfort zones and develop some really strong connections with their peers. From the deep and meaningful, to the absolutely absurd, the experiences were ones they will hopefully cherish for many years to come.
I cannot thank enough the efforts of our staff as without their efforts behind-the-scenes, we simply could not have provided the students with this experience. The student’s behaved exceptionally, and there were many compliments from holidayers and Cape Hillsborough staff to myself and our team of teachers. Our Year 11 student Mitsuki Jaremus penned the description of her camp experience.
"I think I underestimated the importance of camp. This camp was constructed to highlight the leadership within people and strengthen our bonds as students, and it was really enjoyable to experience our grade coming together to tackle and solve problems. I learnt that leadership isn’t about dictating and telling people what to do, rather it’s about being involved, about proving to your peers that they can trust you to come up with a solution and helping them achieve that."
