What were your favourite subjects at Proserpine State High School? My senior subjects included English, Maths B, Biology, PE, and Hospitality. I liked to keep things balanced between creativity, academics, and practical life skills.

Favourite Proserpine State High School memory? Sports days and Calgary Day were absolute highlights—there was always such a fun, competitive energy in the air. I loved how the whole school came together for games, activities, and cheering on our Houses. It was all about team spirit, laughter, and creating memories that still make me smile.

Where did life take you after you graduated? I knew early on I wanted to travel and be paid to do so. That dream took me to the Middle East 14 years ago, where I joined Etihad Airways and flew for eight or more incredible years. It was an experience that took me all over the world, allowed me to meet people from every corner of the globe, and truly expanded my perspective. From there, I transitioned into the world of private aviation for VVIP’s.

What job position are you currently in? I currently work closely with His Excellency in a strategic and protocol support role, which has been a huge honour and an amazing learning experience. Alongside that, I run my own luxury beauty and wellness brand, Designer Skin, offering premium spray tanning, training, and tailored services in the UAE.

Tell us about why you picked a career in aviation and beauty, and what your study/training journey has been? My career choices were guided by curiosity and passion more than a set plan. Aviation came from a love of travel and people, and it taught me discipline, confidence, and cultural awareness. Later, launching my own business came from spotting a market gap and having the drive to build something uniquely mine. I’ve completed various international certifications in beauty and wellness, and I’m still learning every day—especially now as an entrepreneur and mum.

Best experience since graduating at Proserpine State High School? Flying around the world with Etihad Airways will always be a core highlight—it opened up the world to me. Working with dignitaries in the UAE and starting my own business have also been huge milestones for me. But honestly, the best experience has been creating a life that blends career, travel, family, and purpose in ways I could never have imagined back in high school.

Best advice for current Year 12 students? Say yes to opportunities, even if they scare you. You don’t need to have your whole life figured out at 17. Travel, try new things, and be willing to pivot. Every experience teaches you something that will serve you later—even the ones that don’t go to plan.
