From Our Heads of Department

eLearning Round 3 CYOD orders close on Friday

Our Round 3 CYOD order will close this Friday, 7th March. A 60% deposit or full payment is required, and the order form must be submitted to our Administration Office by this date. Order information can be found on our school website along with the order form under the Curriculum/eLearning tab. These devices will be issued early in Term 2.

A reminder that students in the BYOD eLearning program will need to return the BYOD agreement form to our Administration Office so they can be reconnected to the network, internet and printers. Students should be able to connect one to two days after forms have been received. Forms can be collected from our Resource Centre or accessed on our school website. Students will need to download the ‘Intune’ program at home prior to connection. This will allow the BYOD device access to the school Wi-Fi and the resources it provides. Instructions on this process can be found at our Resource Centre or on our school website.

Please encourage your child to bring their charged laptop to school every day to supplement their curriculum activities. It is essential that students have their devices at school to help complete their assessment. The school has a limited number of devices for loaning, and these are only available to students not in an eLearning program.

Help us raise funds for World's Greatest Shave

PSHS_Tiles_49_.png

Our school is proud to participate in our 26th Leukaemia Foundation “World’s Greatest Shave” on Friday 14th March 2025. This will be our school's major fundraiser for Term 1. Last year we raised more than $13,600. This year we are aiming to raise more than $10,000, with almost $4000 raised so far.

This year, Mr Cox (18 years shaving) and Miss Thomson (6 years colouring) are joined by Year 12s Zac Gould, Callum Henry, Breeanna Jorgensen, Blake Lovelock, Archer Philipson, Tyler Hicks (Year 11), Eli Wallis (Year 9) and Lani Scarborough (Year 7). Our school will be participating in Funky Hair Friday on March 14, where students come are encouraged to come to school with funky hair or have their hair coloured by our Student Council as part of the World’s Greatest Shave in our Luke Complex.

Donations can be made in Care Groups, in donation boxes at our canteen or you can donate online by clicking the link here or via the QR Code.

Fundraising from a sausage sizzle plus soft drinks on Shave Day at our school will be conducted. Our school recycling program "Containers for Change" will be contributing funds from the collection of bottles, cans and tetra packs this year again as well.

Remember if each student donates $5 we will raise approximately $6000 to help research into blood cancers and support those people and their families during their treatment and fight against these diseases. We would love to beat our target and remember every little bit helps.

Businesses are welcome to contact us for a fundraising flyer to display in their workplace. Please email amitc314@eq.edu.au for a copy.
