From Our Heads of Department

Welcome from our eLearning Team

As we start a new school year, we ask students in our BYOD eLearning program to return their BYOD agreement form and payment to our Adminstration Office so they can be reconnected to the network, internet and printers. Students should be able to connect one to two days after forms and payment have been received by the office. Students will need to download the ‘Intune’ program at home prior to connection. This will allow the BYOD device access to our school Wi-Fi and the resources it provides. Instructions on this process can be found at our Resource Centre or on our school website.

It is vital all students in either eLearning program listen to morning notices and check the lists at the Resource Centre for when devices are issued or connected so they can be collected.

There are limited resources for students not in the CYOD/BYOD eLearning program. It cannot be guaranteed a laptop will be available for use in the classroom. Please consider joining the eLearning program to support your child’s learning. If there are financial constraints, a bursary can be applied for by contacting our Administration Office. Information regarding our school’s eLearning program can be found on our school website under the eLearning tab. The first CYOD order for 2025 will close on Friday, 7th of February. Another order is scheduled for the end of Term 1.

Our Year 7 students will be involved in induction workshops this term and ICT skilling will occur in students’ Digital Literacy classes. It is anticipated students in the CYOD program will receive their devices in Week 4. For a Year 7 CYOD student to be issued their device, full payment must be received prior to issue. It is likely Year 7 students in the BYOD program will be connected to the school network, printers and internet in Week 3 in readiness for use in the classroom in Week 4. Students should listen to morning notices for these arrangements.

Laptops are provided primarily for educational purposes as they are a learning tool. While some personal use is acceptable, the main guideline for use is under teacher’s instruction or parent/guardians’ permission ensuring compliance with the conditions of our school's Computer Network Agreement and Student Use Agreement. Please take some time to decide how you wish to manage the use of this device in your home and discuss these expectations with your child.

All students need to pay particular attention to the care and treatment of their school bag as well as others’ belongings. Every student must assume each bag contains a device and must act responsibly at all times. Laptops/school bags should never be left unattended.

Year 12 SET Plan Reviews

The SET Plan process is a key component of our school’s Career Education Program. SET Plans are required to be reviewed and revised at various stages throughout Years 11 and 12 to ensure students remain on track for success in Senior Secondary and meaningful post-school pathways.

It is a Departmental requirement that communication of student learning plans and proposed post-school pathways are documented in the SET Plan which is signed off by parents/carers and a school representative. Students and parents/carers will engage in a 20-minute personal interview with a member of staff to review students’ academic progress at this vital juncture to ensure they are on track for QCE/QCIA attainment and a positive transition to post-school pathways.

PSHS_Tiles_46_.pngOur Year 12 SET Plan date for 2025 will be Tuesday 11th February from 8:00am to 5:00pm.

In order to allow our school to facilitate these important interviews for more than 150 students, Year 12 classes for Tuesday 11th February will be closed.

The booking of interviews is to be completed through SOBS our online booking system, and are now open. Bookings will close at 12:00pm on Friday 7th of February

Should you be unable to make an interview time on Tuesday 11th of February please contact our school on 4945 0111 to book an alternative interview time.

If you haven't registered for QParents or are having difficulties providing 100 points ID, feel free to bring along your identification documents and we can sign you up on the day.
